Learn how to design and demonstrate a more environmentally-sustainable geosynthetics project at a virtual talk hosted by IGS UK this month.
Boyd Ramsey, who has spearheaded the creation of the IGS Sustainability Benefits Calculator, will speak more about this game-changing tool at his talk on ‘Geosynthetics and sustainability – Let’s use our numbers, shall we?’
The IGS Sustainability Benefits Calculator was launched last year as a crucial way to compare the environmental gains of using geosynthetics versus traditional materials in various scenarios. Users of the software can tailor case studies according to the needs of their own projects, generating numerical values showing the environmental impact of their design, for example how much CO2 is generated. Detailed results can then be collated for pitch documents, reports and presentations. The tool is particularly reliable because search parameters comply with EU regulations, with other regulatory packages available.
In the lecture, Mr Ramsey, who is co-chair of the IGS Sustainability Committee, will explain how the calculator can be used, demonstrate the software in action, and share how members can get access.
The webinar takes place on Tuesday, January 23, at 5.30pm UK time. To register, click here.
