Iran Chapter: Post-Webinar Summary Report

On March 10, 2021, the Iranian Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society conducted a three-hour technical webinar entitled “SOFT SOIL REINFORCEMENT BY RIGID INCLUSIONS – EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL APPROACHES”.

In this webinar, the keynote speaker, Prof. Daniel DIAS from the University of Grenoble Alpes, France, presented cutting-edge information in the field of geosynthetics. Following the lecture, there was a 30-minute question and answer session in which the attendees shared suggestions, thoughts, and opinions on the subject. It was a great opportunity to bring together 166 participants from 7 countries, notably Germany, France, USA, Canada, Czech Republic, Greece, and Iran. Based on the online survey, 100 percent of the participants enjoyed the webinar and said they would like to participate in upcoming technical webinars hosted by the Iranian chapter of the IGS.

The debate over reducing our environmental footprint is timely and crucial. Sharing our collective experiences and knowledge is one of the best, if not the best, way to save the world.
