The IGS’s online reach is growing like never before with 4,000 followers now engaging with us on LinkedIn – a doubling in just 18 months.
Over the last few years the IGS has actively invested time and resources in improving our online presence – particularly important when the pandemic forced more events to take place virtually. We’ve focused on increasing the frequency, variety and quality of the content available on our social channels and website – which we relaunched this year with a new look, better functionality and members-only features – as well as creating new ways to communicate our messages such as the ‘Did You Know…?’ sustainability series.
All these efforts have contributed to increased followers and more engagement, which has also led to greater attendance at virtual and in-person IGS events.
Sam Allen, IGS Communications Chair, said: “The IGS understands the increasing importance of ensuring the communication channels we use and the way we use them reflect the needs and expectations of our members and potential members.
“Our fast-growing online presence ensures our members have access to more information than ever before, builds a motivated community of geosynthetics professionals, and more effectively spreads the message about the many benefits of using geosynthetics to stakeholders and the wider public.
“We’re always looking to improve and find new ways to grow engagement and interest in the IGS and its membership.”
