Special issue on “Durability of Geosynthetics”

The International Journal of Geosynthetics and Ground Engineering (published by Springer) has an open call for papers for a special issue on Durability of Geosynthetics. The special issue will have Prof. Maria de Lurdes Lopes and Dr. José Ricardo Carneiro (both from University of Porto – Portugal) as guest editors.

The special issue on “Durability of Geosynthetics” aims to gather papers with relevant advances in the knowledge about the long-term behaviour of geosynthetics. The degradation agents/mechanisms covered in the special issue include but are not limited to:

    • liquids
    • oxidation
    • weathering
    • biological agents
    • creep
    • abrasion
    • installation damage

Developments in laboratory and field testing of geosynthetics are also welcomed. The effect of stabilisers on the long-term behaviour of geosynthetics is also covered. Case studies on the durability of geosynthetics are also desired.

Submission period: 01 April 2021 – 30 June 2021
