Geos Peru 2015 – III Congreso Nacional de Geosintéticos
Following the International Geosynthetics Society(IGS) Peru Chapter hosting of the Pan-American Conference on Geosynthetics (2012), the chapter was encouraged to hold another geosynthetics event. Geos Peru 2015 will be held 4 – 6 March 2015 in Lima.
In his invitation letter, IGS Peru President Ing. Augusto Alza Vilela notes, “…advances in the uses and applications of geosynthetics in Peru are remarkable. Commonly used, geosynthetics continue to confirm their technical and economic value in civil works, and new materials have emerged to solve the current problems of engineering. [Peru] invests heavily today in infrastructure as a path to growth and development. For geosynthetics and engineering, we see: higher standards, testing laboratories, greater diversity and performance in design, new techniques, and improved quality assurance. In short, we see a promising future.”
