The talks introduced various aspects of geosynthetics and how they could be incorporated into undergraduate courses.

The professors were mainly from geotechnical and civil engineering, agricultural, and environmental engineering, while the consultants came from Morocco’s highway administration, geotechnical testing laboratory and JESA Group, one of the largest engineering companies in Africa.

Educate the Educators on Geosynthetics, Romania online

Romania’s first ETE program took place online on May 9, 11 & 17, 2023. Teaching staff from six universities in Romania learned more about geosynthetics from speakers Pietro Rimoldi, Eric Blond, Patricia Guerra, Martin Ziegler, Gerhard Brau, Oliver Detert and Madalena Barroso in a series of webinars.  IGS Romania President Ernest Olinic said: “The Chapter was pleased to host our first ETE event for our country’s educators. I think it will have a very significant impact on promoting the correct use of geosynthetic materials among teaching staff, so that they can share more accurate information with their students.”
