7th ICEGE (International Conference on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering) @ Angelicum Congress
Jun 17 – Jun 20 all-day
7th ICEGE (International Conference on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering) @ Angelicum Congress

After the increasingly successful conferences held in Tokyo (1995), Lisbon (1999), Berkeley (2004), Thessaloniki (2007), Santiago (2011), and Christchurch (2015), the Italian Geotechnical Society (AGI) on appointment by the ISSMGE Technical Committee 203 (‘Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering and associated problems’) is delighted to announce that the city of Roma will host the 7th ICEGE (International Conference on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering) in June 2019.
As in the previous editions, the conference topics will address through general and parallel sessions the most recent developments in earthquake geotechnical engineering, stimulating fruitful technical and scientific interaction with the fields of seismology, geophysics, geology, structural and infrastructural engineering.
Among the various topics, there is also this one: Ground improvement, reinforced soil structures and geosynthetics, of particular interest for IGS members.
The ‘eternal city’ of Roma is one of the most attractive and symbolic venues in the world, thanks to its impressive cultural heritage, the pleasant weather, its extraordinary social life, not to mention the taste of the Italian food.
Transportation to and through Roma is very effective thanks to two International Airports, high-speed railways and underground city trains.
Roma can count on a variety of accommodation facilities to host the conference delegates, from Luxury hotels to B&Bs.
Pre- and/or post-conference events are also planned, including technical visits to sites affected by historical to most recent earthquakes.
Paper submission
On July 27, 2018 the results of almost 1.100 abstract reviews have been sent to all authors.
Authors are now invited to submit papers in due time, this will help to conclude the papers review avoiding delays of the whole editorial process.

 At least one author of each accepted paper must register to the conference. Papers without at least one registered author will not be published. Each registration fee allows to publish only one (1) manuscript. Additional accepted papers can be published with an extra paper fee of 100.00 Euros per manuscript. Accepted papers will be included in the digital conference proceedings, provided the registration fee, or paper fee is paid. Payments must be made online at the registration page. Registration will be enabled by September 2018.
 USB Card Proceedings will be published by CRC Press / Balkema, Taylor & Francis Group. Since we are aware of the importance, for academics and authors, of the indexing of their works, the Editor will send the Proceedings to the indexing services (Scopus, EI and Compendex).

Questions regarding the paper review process, sessions and the technical program should be directed to the 7ICEGE Organizing Committee at

3rd International Conference on Information Technology in Geo-Engineering

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee I am honoured to invite you to the 3rd International Conference on Information Technology in Geo-Engineering (3rd ICITG), which will be held in the City of Guimarães, (UNESCO World Heritage), Portugal from September 29 to October 2, 2019.

The 3rd ICITG is organized by the University of Minho and the Geotechnical Portuguese Society (SPG) in the framework of the activities of the Joint Technical Committee 2 (JTC2) on Representation of Geo-Engineering Data of the Federation of International Geo-Engineering Societies (FedIGS). FedIGS, is an umbrella organization linking international professional societies in the field of “Geo‐Engineering”: ISSMGE International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, ISRM International Society for Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, IAEG International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, IGS International Geosynthetics Society.

This conference aims to address the most updated developments in information communication and technologies in geo-engineering. It covers the application to laboratory and field tests, as well as the monitoring and survey of geo-structures. It embraces also intelligent geomaterials, intelligent construction and all the related aspects with design, construction and maintenance of geo-structures.

Full-length papers submitted to the conference and accepted after a rigorous peer-review process will be included in the Conference Proceedings published by Springer Series in Geomechanics and Geoengineering and further submitted for indexing by Scopus and Web of Science.

Submission of abstracts/full-length papers are made only through the website:

In addition, authors can also submit full-length papers for special issues of the following journals:

Ø  Underground Space (

Ø  Journal of Smart Infrastructure and construction (

With fascinating ancient traditions and modern lifestyle, the city of Guimarães will surely be the center of many unforgettable moments. We look forward to welcoming you in Guimarães!

On behalf of the organizing committee,

António Gomes Correia

Chair of ICITG2019

The 17th African Regional Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering @ Century City Conference Centre & Hotel
Oct 7 – Oct 9 all-day
The 17th African Regional Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering @ Century City Conference Centre & Hotel
In conjunction with the South African Institution of Civil Engineering, the Geosynthetics Interest Group of South Africa and ISSMGE, the IGS is pleased to announce the 17th African Regional Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (17th ARCSMGE) on 7-9 October 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The main theme of the 17th ARCSMGE is “Innovation and Sustainability in Geotechnics for Developing Africa”. The theme originates from the fact that Africa as a whole suffers from a pronounced infrastructural deficit when compared to other developed countries and regions. Therefore, both innovative and sustainable infrastructure is crucial for Africa’s economic integration. As such, the vision of improved geotechnics is a positive notion directed at the development of the continent. The conference theme is broad and inclusive; presenting a range of opportunities to stakeholders from the entire geotechnical industry.
The 7th African Young Geotechnical Engineers’ Conference (AYGE) will take place on Sunday 6th October 2019, the day before the ARCSMGE. The AYGE conference provides an approachable audience within a vibrant environment where young presenters under the age of 35 are encouraged to exercise their presentation and technical writing skills on a continental platform. More information about the AYGE conference will be made available on the website shortly (
GIGSA and IGS will contribute to the conference with a Short Course to be held on Monday 7 October 2019. The Geosynthetics Short Course topics and schedule will be announced at a later date.
We hope to see you in South Africa!
GeoAmericas 2020 – 4th Pan-American Conference On Geosynthetics

GeoAmericas 2020 - 4th Pan-American Conference On Geosynthetics

After been held in Mexico in 2008, Peru in 2012 and the USA in 2016, GeoAmericas comes to Brazil in its 4th edition, which will be held in April 2020 in Rio de Janeiro.  In addition to a rich technical program focused on the most relevant topics for the technical community of geosynthetics today, several social events and a wide area available for technical exhibits for the geosynthetic industry will be offered. English is the official language, but activities in Spanish and Portuguese will also compose the event’s program. We anticipate over 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries, which ensures both broad representativeness and a plurality of cultures and markets.

Every day 26 of each month there will be news about GeoAmericas 2020.
Stay tuned!
