EurAsian Geosynthetics Symposium (EAGS 2)

CNITA and EDANA are happy to invite you to the second edition of the EurAsian Geosynthetics Symposium (EAGS) in Beijing, organised in conjunction with the ISO TC 221 annual meetings on 20-22 November 2019

The EAGS is a two-day conference and exhibition covering markets, products, technologies and applications for all types of geosynthetics: geotextiles, geogrids, geonets, geomembranes, geocomposites, geocells and roofing felts and membranes. Innovative topics in line with the sustainability issues are also covered.

It is a unique networking event attracting leading decision makers from across the geosynthetics supply chain, from raw materials to buyers and users of geosynthetics, with specific reference to Greater Europe, including Russia, and Asia. A tabletop exbhibition is organized to facilitate networking between participants and companies representatives.

Simultaneous translation into English and Mandarin is provided throughout the conference.

“Since the Chinese Belt and Road policy was launched, geotextiles are even more topical and promising as a market segment. Geotextiles will not only be indispensable to implement such a large infrastructure plan, they will also help reduce the environmental impact.”
Pierre Wiertz, General Manager, EDANA

The EAGS is co-organised by CNITA (China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association) and EDANA

13 International Symposium on Landslides @ Las Americas Hotel Convention Center

The 13th International Symposium on Landslides (XIII ISL) will be held from June 15-19, 2020 in the beautiful city of Cartagena, Colombia.

In association with the Joint Technical Committee on Natural Slopes and Landslides (JTC1) and the Federation of International Geo-engineering Societies: ISSMGE, ISRM and IAEG (FedIGS), the Colombian Geotechnical Society (CGS) cordially invites the international geotechnical community to participate in XIII ISL:  http://www.scg.org.co/xiii-isl/index.html

International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering Education @ The Acropolis Museum
The Conference GEE2020 has two priority themes (in addition to more typical education themes such as curricula, coursework and educational material) that include: (A) two-way interaction between industry and academia for co-production of educational material and curriculum development and (B) familiarizing young geotechnical faculty and late-stage PhD candidates with research-based good practices in engineering education. Priority theme (B) will be reinforced by awarding –on a competitive basis– the surplus of the conference to covering the expenses of young geotechnical engineering researchers participating in engineering education conferences.

The organizing committee of GEE2020 plans to set a standard for a “next generation” conference by opening it to remote participants through the internet. Invited presentations and panel discussions will be broadcasted with live streaming. In addition, some key lectures will be videotaped, edited and made available online. The design and the publicity of the conference aim to make it attractive to a critical mass of participants contributing papers and of active attendees. These features, together with publishing the proceedings online immediately after the conference, will maximize its impact.

4th International Conference on Transportation Geotechnics (4th ICTG)

The 4th ICTG 2020 is organized as a specialty conference of ISSMGE TC 202 on Transportation Geotechnics with the member society support and sponsorship of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geo-Institute, Transportation Research Board (TRB), International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), and through efforts of the local organizing committee at UIUC.  The 4th ICTG 2020 will be held at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Hotel, 301 E North Water Street, in Chicago, Illinois on August 30–September 2, 2020.

The main objective of the 4th ICTG conference in 2020 will be to apply broad engineering to bridge the gap between Pavement/Railway Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering and to promote co-operation and exchange of information and knowledge about the geotechnical aspects for addressing challenges in design, construction, maintenance, monitoring and upgrading of roads, railways, airfields and harbor facilities and other ground transportation infrastructure with the goal of providing safe, economic, environmental, reliable and sustainable infrastructures.

The 4th ICTG 2020 Conference Themes

  • Mechanistic-empirical design (road, railways, airfields and harbor facilities)
  • Optimized geomaterial (including hydraulically bound materials and asphalt mixtures) use, reuse and recycling in road embankments and structural layers
  • Sustainability in transportation geotechnics
  • Rail track substructures, including transition zones, and transportation geodynamics
  • Stabilization and reinforcement of geomaterials and its implications in pavement and rail track design
  • Geosynthetics in transportation applications
  • Subsurface sensing for transportation infrastructure
  • Smart and connected transportation infrastructure, including Macro and Nanotechnology applied to transportation geotechnics
  • Intelligent construction in earthworks technology and management
  • Climatic effects on geomaterial behavior related to mechanics of unsaturated transportation foundations
  • Slope stability, stabilization, and asset management
  • Effect of climate change
  • Harbor geotechnics
  • Case histories

EuroGeo 7 - 7th European Geosynthetics Congress

We are pleased to invite you to the 7th EuroGeo conference, to be held in Warsaw, Poland in 2020. Poland is a country with more than a thousand years of recorded history and has a strong European identity. The country was first to free itself from communist domination in 1989 and is now fully democratic and a member of the European Union. Poland is a leader in infrastructure development in the region, which has resulted in many extraordinary projects. Warsaw, with its central location, is an ideal base for exploring the country. Today, the city is a dynamic cultural and business centre, with strong links not only to Western Europe but also to the East. PSG-IGS, a Polish Chapter of IGS is young but thriving organization successfully cooperating with several chapters within Central Europe. It is an honour to host such a prestigious conference in Warsaw and We sincerely believe that the sessions will prove to be a success. Come to Warsaw, bring your family and enjoy your stay in our capital and help us to make this Conference not only scientifically profitable but also an unforgettable event.

We look forward to seeing you in Warsaw!

Dr. Jacek Kawalec – Chairman

Jakub Bryk – Vice Chair

Dr. Jolanta Dąbrowska – Secretary General
