  GeoAfrica 2009 is a Regional Conference of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), and the paper review and selection process will be conducted according to IGS rules and guidelines.GeoAfrica 2009 is a Regional Conference of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), and the paper review and selection process will be conducted according to IGS rules and guidelines. All abstracts are to be submitted via the Author Centre on the GeoAfrica 2009 web site. Abstracts submitted by any other means will not be considered. All abstracts submitted as required have been reviewed by the Abstract Review Panel (ARP), consisting of three experienced IGS members, and a summary of the three individual reviews has been compiled and sent to the Principal Author of every abstract, by the Technical Chair of the conference. The summary will inform the Principal Author to either: Revise the abstract according to the ARP's requirements, and re-submit the abstract by the given date using their personalised username and password. The ARP will then again review the abstract and the Technical Chair of the conference will notify the Principal Author whether to proceed to write and submit the full paper, or that the paper in question has been declined. On receipt of the full paper in MS Word format, on the conference web site, by the given deadline, the Technical Chair of the conference will allocate each paper to a member of the Conference Scientific Committee (CSC). The Committee Member will evaluate the paper according to the guidelines issued to the Principal Author. The completed evaluation will be sent to the Principal Author and will inform him/her that either: 1). The paper has been accepted without need for modification and will be presented at the conference and published in the proceedings, subject to at least the presenting author having registered and paid the conference fee by the published deadline found in the paper guide and on the conference web site. Should the required conference fee not be received by the deadline given (notwithstanding that the presenting author may at a later date register and attend), the paper will not appear in the proceedings and its presentation will not be permitted. or: 2). The paper has been provisionally accepted with a need for modification and return by the given deadline. On acceptance of the modified paper, it will be presented at the conference and published in the proceedings, subject to at least the presenting author having registered and paid the conference fee by the published deadline found in the paper guide and on the conference web site. Should the required conference fee not be received by the deadline given (notwithstanding that the presenting author may at a later date register and attend), the paper will not appear in the proceedings and its presentation will not be permitted.
